Subject: Placement of Center Footing
ID: 1
Message: One would think that a 300 pound footing would be tough to manage for a couple of guys... problem is, it was ONLY ME.
I loaded the block by myself to make sure I could handle it. I used my block and tackle attached to a chain that was hooked to the frames of the front seats. With the efficiency of the block and tackle, I only pulled about 70 pounds of pressure to get the thing in.
Here, to get it out, I backed the car to the approximate position of the hole where to footing was to go. You can just see the chain/rope going off to the right where I tied it to a large tree and simply drove off.
With the use of a long 2x6, I was able to place the block in the hole and remove it about a dozen times to get the bottom of the hole to fit properly.
When all was said and done, this footing was never going to move again.
