Bamboo flooring offers unparalleled strength, durability and moisture resistance when compared to traditional hardwood floorings. Its hardness is comparable to jarrah and it’s natural moisture resistance makes it an ideal option for kitchen areas where normal timber flooring is not recommended. It does not wear as quickly as any other timber flooring.

Our Bamboo flooring is available in two colours natural and carbonised coffee. Bamboo is naturally light in colour and the natural colour is produced from this native colour. Uniquely to bamboo the carbonised coffee colour is produced in a special carbonisation process where steam and pressure turn the sugar in the bamboo into a darker colour right through the board. A seven layer coating of aluminium oxide is then applied to the boards and UV cured. This enhances the boards resistance to abrasion.

It is manufactured in 2 different styles horizontal and vertical. Horizontal grain is where the bamboo strips are laid flat when constructed and shows the characteristic markings that identify it as bamboo. Vertical grain is where the bamboo strips are turned on their side to give a more linear appearance.

Environmental concerns are becoming increasingly important in consumers decision making process and bamboo flooring is a perfect choice for the environmentally conscious consumer. Bamboo is actually a grass. A harvested bamboo plantation can regenerate without replanting within 3 years whereas traditional hardwood plantations can take up to 75 years to regenerate. Bamboo has been known to grow as much as 1 metre in 24 hours. It is often grown in areas which have been previously damaged by soil erosion, overgrazing and commercial agriculture and its extensive root system helps restore the stability of these areas and removes nitrogen, phosphorus and heavy metals from the soil.

Bamboo flooring can be installed using the identical tools and methods of any other type of tongue and groove flooring. It can be floated, directly stuck to the substrate or secret nailed.
